Job Summary
The Technical Expert is a key member of the project team, responsible to manage the Laboratory Design discipline and project sub-team, the associated costs, schedule and progress as well as quality of the design deliverables and the technical installations.
Duties and Responsibilities
• Reports to the PM Process/Laboratory
• Verifies and aligns the established laboratory design concepts from IDP and FDP with current laboratory design activities and the user requirements.
• Indicates and tracks concept deviations
• Drive the Laboratory Factory assembly planning including the bid package
• Drive the Laboratory Design sub-project team (Planner) and give clear guidance to the team in terms of technical solutions and/or business processes
• Define and execute deliverables in compliance with site standards and processes, all other directives from the customer and statutory requirements
• Define priorities, activities, deliverables, roles and responsibilities within the discipline
• Gain alignment with key stakeholders, Close cooperation with User Stream Lead (USL) to define technical specifications
• Ensure close coordination across disciplines within the project
• Perform formal acceptance together with user, which includes review and sign-off of critical design deliverables, FAT, SAT, etc
• Maintain ownership of assigned work-package within discipline so that target functionality, quality, maintainability and reliability are achieved
• Provide substantial contributions to overall project scope including option analysis, life cycle cost analysis, project planning, detailed schedule, resourcing and estimating
• Be in involved in bid evaluations, purchase orders and invoice checking
• Be the key responsible person for engineering change management of own discipline and work closely together with the controlling team for project change control
• Provide regular status update of progress, cost, schedule, risk identification and mitigation
• Express relevant information timely, clearly and concisely to relevant stakeholders
• Partner proactively with key customers, team members and stakeholders, while being open and approachable with a friendly, positive and professional
Education:
• Experience with Laboratory Design with min. 5 years of experience in pharmaceutical/biopharmaceutical industry
• Experience in management of capital projects
Knowledge / Skills / Competencies:
• Technology Expertise and business acumen in Laboratory Design
• Develop and execute the related technical discipline strategy: including technology selection, cost benefit analysis
• Technical Analysis: including process and technology plant fits, capacity and equipment utilization, and assessment of applicable new technologies
• Excellent collaboration, teambuilding and communication skills
• Work is largely self-directed and exercises considerable latitude in determining objectives and approaches to assignments
• Providing guidance and manage work activities of others
• Very good analytical and problem solving skills
Additional information:
• Start: 01.12.2024 (occasional work before December in the ramp-up phase desired)
• Duration: 2 years
• Workload: full-time
• Location: Switzerland
• Remote share: tbd.
