About Us:
Our client is a leading innovator in the renewable energy sector, focused on developing cutting-edge solutions for energy storage and management. They are currently working on an exciting project to develop advanced battery charging systems. To support this initiative, we are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Freelance FPGA Engineer to join their team in Regensburg.

Project Overview:
The project involves the design, development, and implementation of FPGA-based control systems for high-efficiency battery charging solutions. The goal is to create scalable, reliable, and efficient charging systems for various types of batteries, including lithium-ion and solid-state batteries.


Key Responsibilities:

Design and develop FPGA-based control systems for battery charging applications.

Implement control algorithms on FPGAs to ensure optimal performance, safety, and reliability of charging systems.

Collaborate with hardware and software teams to integrate FPGA designs with other system components.

Perform simulations, testing, and validation of FPGA designs to ensure functionality and performance.

Troubleshoot and debug FPGA-related issues during the development and testing phases.

Document design processes, results, and provide technical support during the implementation phase.

Stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in FPGA technology and battery charging systems.


Qualifications:

Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Proven experience in FPGA design and development, particularly for control systems.

Strong understanding of digital design principles and FPGA architectures.
Proficiency in HDL languages such as VHDL or Verilog.

Experience with FPGA development tools such as Xilinx Vivado, Altera Quartus, or equivalent.

Knowledge of power electronics and battery charging principles is highly desirable.

Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.


Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with high-level synthesis (HLS) tools for FPGA development.

Familiarity with embedded software development and microcontroller integration.

Hands-on experience with PCB design and layout.
