Job Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Lead Engineer Piping for an exciting project in Northern Germany, working on a key industrial installation. This freelance position will focus on the technical management and coordination of piping systems design and installation, working closely with a EPCM contractor and other departments. The project involves working on various piping systems such as water-steam cycles, cooling water systems, and media supply systems.

Key Responsibilities:

Lead and manage the piping and layout design within the project team.
Coordinate external teams, including a Spanish EPCM general contractor.
Develop and review plant and piping designs, ensuring alignment with 3D models.
Work with Process Flow Diagrams (PFD) and Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&ID).
Oversee piping and installation planning in collaboration with EPCM and Area Managers.
Review technical documents including isometrics, installation plans, and special supports.
Conduct on-site inventory and evaluations, ensuring accurate and complete documentation.
Manage the execution of the piping package, coordinating across various systems (water-steam, cooling, media supply, etc.).
Ensure proper coordination with other departments such as construction, equipment, and commissioning teams.
Prepare and review specifications for piping design with the general contractor.
Supervise piping systems until project completion, including conducting site visits as necessary.
Requirements:

Must haves:
5-10 years of experience in piping, mechanical, or process engineering.
Solid knowledge of SAP, Eplan, and related software.
Background in Mechanical or Process Engineering.
Proficiency in English; basic knowledge of German is required.
Strong experience in managing piping systems in industrial projects.
