Job Description:

We are a leading automotive supplier based in Munich, looking for a Freelance Mechanical Design Engineer to join our team. You will work directly with industry experts on mechanical design and prototyping for electric vehicle (EV) platforms. This role requires a full-time onsite presence to engage in hands-on development, testing, and optimization of automotive components.

Key Responsibilities:

- Design and optimize mechanical components for EV platforms, including battery enclosures and thermal management systems.
- Perform finite element analysis (FEA) and computational fluid dynamics (CFD) simulations.
- Create detailed engineering drawings and manage BOMs (Bill of Materials).
- Oversee prototype fabrication and coordinate with testing teams.

Requirements:

- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.
- 5+ years of experience in automotive mechanical design, especially for electric vehicles.
- Proficiency in CATIA V5/V6 and experience with FEA/CFD tools.
- Ability to work full-time onsite in Munich.
