Medior/Senior Data Protection Consultant (m/f/d)

We are currently looking for a Medior/Senior Data Protection Consultant (m/f/d) for our client in the payment services and healthcare sector in the Netherlands.

Tasks:
- Monitoring organization’s adherence to data protection laws and practices, and signaling (significant) data protection risks.
- Monitoring guidelines, standards and enforcement of regulations, to the extent relevant for data protection and the organization.
- Monitoring the assessments of the business’s future ventures to identify possible data protection risks.
- Developing and/or overseeing control systems to prevent or deal with violations of GDPR regulation.
- Maintaining a process for receiving, documenting, tracking, investigating, and acting on all requests/complaints concerning the organization’s privacy policies and procedures.
- Providing guidance and act as visionary towards the business regarding compliance by design and strive for the implementation of data protection best practices and methodologies across critical areas of the business.
- Supervising the Register of Processing Activities (RoPA), signalling any inconsistencies or other areas of improvement with the appropriate colleagues.
- Monitoring the handling of Data Subject Requests within the organization in accordance with set procedures.
- Providing advice in regards to (potential) data breaches within GCS.
- Support the business to comply with the completion of Data Protection Impact Assessments (DPIAs), Legitimate Interests Assessments (LIAs) and Transfer Impact Assessments (TIAs).
- Providing data protection training and company procedure updates to staff, including the Board of Directors.
- Reporting to the Senior Management/Board of Directors about key data protection risks and key performance indicators, on quarterly basis.

As Data Protection Officer, you are familiar with legal guidelines and corporate governance best practices. You will operate locally while in an international environment and work closely with various teams in the organization (e.g. Risk, Compliance, Legal, Sales, Products).

Skills (must-have):
- Knowledge of GDPR, ePrivacy.
- Certified Information Privacy Professional (CIPP/E) or equivalent.
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in privacy and data protection compliance.
- Excellent analytical skills with an eye for detail.
- Results driven and persistent.
- Interpersonal skills and an awareness of political and organizational dynamics.
- Multicultural mindset and flexibility, able to work in an international environment.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills in English, both verbally and written.

Skills (nice-to-have)
- Affinity with IT and IT-related projects, fundamentals of information security and e-commerce.
- Working experience in the e-commerce space, banks, or the payment industry.
- Knowledge of Dutch or any other European language is a plus.

Project details:
Start: January 2025
Duration: 5-7 months
Utilization: 3-4 days/week
Location: to be in the office near Amstadam 2 days/week and 2 days/week remote
