For our client we are looking for a Data Center and Rollout Lead (f/m/d).

Start: November 2024
Duration: 31.03.25 ++ (long term)
Capacity: 100% if possible
Location: Berlin / Remote (1 week Berlin / 3 weeks remote in rotation), up to 50% onsite in peak times

Role:
The infrastructure product group offers data center services that are provided via a software stack for other product groups. The "Data Center and Rollout Lead" plays a key role in setting up data centers and edge locations.
The Data Centre and Rollout Lead builds the data centers and decentralized locations including all required hardware components in accordance with the Core Infra Architect's design. He does this in line with the requirements defined by the Delivery Lead.
The Data Centre and Rollout Lead builds the data center and hands over the components to the technical teams who set up the planned infrastructure solution. The role described is the core position that enables the infrastructure product line to set up their solution.
They have the technical knowledge to translate the requirements placed on them into the necessary steps and document these in user stories of the agile framework or a classic project plan.
In case of missing information or design decisions that do not lead to a single solution option, he actively addresses and facilitates a quick resolution
of open issues.
The "Data Centre and Rollout Lead" has deep network capabilities as the dependencies between the data center layout and the network communication should actively managed.

Profile Requirements:
The individual must have at least 10 years in the data center and local site rollout, preferably with a hands-on engineering background.
The individual should also be able to clearly communicate with peers and architects, the ideas, designs, and document these topics clearly and in a professional readable manner including diagrams.
A very strong experience in rolling out on-premises cloud networks is a plus.

Skills (must-have):
- Build-up Datacenters in a greenfield approach
- Good experience with power cabling, passive and active network cabling
- Good experience with installing and configuring data center infrastructure including patch fields, servers, racks, switches and other hardware (rack and stack)
- Good experience with disaster recovery operations in the event of power failures, fires, or other disasters
- Hardware rollout management
- Team lead of global distributed teams
- Understanding LAN and WAN technologies in a Datacenter and connections to the Datacenter
- Complying with and maintaining security standards within the Datacenter
- Experience with Jira, Confluence and Miro or similar tools
- Good English in speech and writing (at least C1)

- Knowledge in routing and switching, compute and storage
