Job Description:

As a Freelance Hardware Electronics EMC Expert, you will be responsible for ensuring that our electronic products meet the highest standards of electromagnetic compatibility. You will work closely with our hardware design and engineering teams to identify potential EMC issues, develop solutions, and ensure compliance with relevant standards and regulations. This role is perfect for someone with deep expertise in EMC and a passion for designing robust and compliant hardware.

Key Responsibilities:

Conduct EMC analysis and testing on electronic hardware designs to identify and mitigate potential issues.
Develop and implement EMC design guidelines and best practices for new product development.
Collaborate with hardware engineers to optimize circuit layouts, grounding, shielding, and filtering to minimize electromagnetic interference (EMI).
Perform root cause analysis of EMC problems and propose effective solutions.
Ensure compliance with relevant EMC standards and regulations (e.g., CISPR, FCC, CE, MIL-STD-461).
Prepare detailed reports and documentation of EMC test results, findings, and recommendations.
Stay up-to-date with the latest EMC technologies, standards, and industry trends.
Qualifications:

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degrees are a plus.
Proven experience as an EMC expert in hardware electronics, with a strong background in EMC design, testing, and mitigation techniques.
Familiarity with EMC standards and regulations, such as CISPR, FCC, CE, MIL-STD-461, and others.
Hands-on experience with EMC testing equipment and software, such as spectrum analyzers, oscilloscopes, EMC test chambers, and simulation tools.
Strong understanding of circuit design principles, including grounding, shielding, filtering, and signal integrity.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously.
Strong communication skills and the ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
