Color and Material Designer (m/w/d) Footwear (FTW) - SS26

For one of our clients we are looking for a freelance Color and Material Designer Footwear (FTW)

Short description of the project: Creation of color and material role out for Training FTW SS24. The project has the purpose that the client delivers the color and material role out and tech packs for SS26 footwear designs and handovers them to development. The scope of the role is to create and execute a color and material strategy for FW23 season Training FTW Men´s and Women´s and apply it to 56 articles, including business and consumer insights and relevant training trends.

Tasks:
Trend research and selection for 17 Footwear models and mood-board creation for color and material SS26, from commercial to brand heat, men's and women´s, versatile to high performance based on own expertise and input from the client.
Material map creation for 17 Footwear models based on material selection from Product Design which will be handed out to the contractor beforehand
Handover of physical material maps to development in person
Independent color concept creation based on article role out for 70 Footwear
articles. The concept will be validated and approved by the client before
proceeding. In case of any necessary changes, independent adjustment of
concept.
Check of color role out proposal based on own expertise. Updates of color role out based on client feedback which is given within a weekly project related meeting where the contractor takes part in.
Application of color role out to the individual 70 Footwear articles and provide first proposal: Color tech pack creation which is subjected for approval by the client.
Update of color designs on article level provide second proposal based on feedback via color sign-off meeting (see timelines below )
Footwear Color Design Sketch ( CAD ) finalization including all relevant color
and material information per article for final handover to the client
Handover to development of all color Footwear Design Sketches ( CAD )
Updates of color Footwear Design Sketches ( CAD ) based on development input via feedback meeting and own expertise.
Handover project to client (internal design department) to continue and finish project
Finalization of FW25 Footwear season, update of design sketches and upload to system, creation of FW25 design strategy documents for GTMSO sales meeting, update of FW25 rollout. Creation of design strategy based on own expertise.
The performance of the contractor has the goal: Creation of SS26 Footwear Color and Material Designs.

1.7: SS26 participate in Gutcheck II ( Footwear Design Meeting )
3.7: Color Rollout Handover
15.7: SS26 Final Gutcheck ( Final Footwear Design Meeting )
18.7: SS26 Color and Material ( CAM ) Step check one
8.8: SS26 CR1 color sign-off by marketing, all colors, start to create all color sketches
12.8.-13.8 CR2 FW25 Proto Sample review & color sketch review with
Marketing, design, development
14.8 SS26 CR1 Footwear Design Sketch upload ( CAD )
26.8 FW25 Final Design Review and Sign-off with design & marketing
30.8. CR2 Design Sketch FW25 upload to origo system
15.9. Handover of all projects to Footwear designer

Location: 50% remote, 50% onsite (Herzogenaurach)
Duration: till 13.09.2024
Capacity: part-time (33 days for project duration; around 60% capacity ~ 30h/week)
