VCF Consulting Architect / Virtual Cloud foundation Architect

Nature of the project

Scope of the project is to provide Professional Services for our client. The work includes developing and implementing and managing customized software solutions for our client’s end customers. The product stack is VMware’s cloud portfolio including but not limited to VCF, NSx, vRA, vRO, ARIA etc.
Your working area & responsibilities
• As a VCF Consulting Architect, you will acquire intimate knowledge of the customer’s business goals (and measurements) and use your in-depth knowledge of VMware Cloud Foundation to work with customers on building successful implementation roadmaps. Your goal is to lead the customer through their journey to successfully adopt VCF for their end users.
• This is a consulting position, where you will be intensively using VMware’s architectural methodology, technical, business, and leadership skills.
• You will gather and analyze customer business and technical requirements and guide the customer on best-practice configurations to create high-level and low-level designs.
• You will be expected to take full ownership of customer technical architecture, lead consultant(s), and take responsibility for all project deliverables.
• You will create test plans to validate deployment processes aligned to customer use-cases, and create launch and operations plans to increase user adoption and consumption.
• You will work directly with customers to transfer your knowledge of their environment, either by partnering with key customer stakeholders, or by presenting to small groups.
• In addition to end-to-end technical governance of your project, you will also identify and work with the Project Manager to manage commercial, cost, schedule, operational and scope risks, with possible mitigation(s).
• You will manage customer expectations and work with Project Managers to input to project plans with realistic timelines. You will partner with the project manager on project budget, resource planning and all aspects of efficient project delivery.
• You will manage customer and internal escalations; collaborate with VMware support and engineering teams as needed to resolve product and customer issues.
• You will interact with various customers’ teams, from technical engineers and system administrators to business leaders and executives. You will communicate effectively to all audiences—this is key to the success of your projects.

Your skillset
• 8+ years of industry experience and 5+ years’ experience working on VMware technologies.
• 3+ years’ experience in either of
o VCF – Virtual Cloud foundation
o ARIA Automation
• VCAP – DCV, VCAP – CMA (Minimum one of these)
• Local residency
• Local language fluency is mandatory (German)
• English as an additional language is desirable
• Security clearance: Following security clearance is nice to have
o Germany: S2 (U2 – Secret Clearance)
