• Over 30 years’ experience in agricultural and food industry development in EU Member States, EU candidate/pre-accession countries and emerging countries in the Balkans, Eastern Europe, CIS, Middle East and ACP countries
• Long-standing hands-on experience in evaluation and supervision of agro-food and food processing facilities, hygiene and safety of food of animal origin.
• Business-planning and management advice for agricultural and food processing Small and Medium Scale Enterprises in EU Candidate Countries, pre-accession countries and developing countries (Caucasus region, Middle East, Africa-ACP).
• Multiple experience in preparing market studies for food of animal origin (mapping of stakeholders, VCA- value chain analysis, needs assessment, investment proposals for infrastructure).
• Multiple experience in preparation, implementation, analysis and evaluation of agriculture and food industry programmes.
• Detailed knowledge of food industry equipment incl. waste management with a focus on meat and milk
• Proven experience in monitoring and applying evaluation standards and procedures of EU pre-accession programmes (EU IPARD).
• Multiple experience in reviewing and implementing EU agro-food standards and regulations for food industries (EU SPS, EFSA documents and guidelines, GHP, GMP, HACCP, ISO 9000/22000, EU scheme on food quality- PDO, PDI, TSG).
• Excellent knowledge of EU food safety policy and SPS regulatory framework. Expertise in evaluation and law drafting of food safety regulations (livestock, food of animal origin, veterinary rules, standardisation).
• Multiple experience with international donor programmes (EC, EAR, PHARE, TACIS, IPARD, GIZ, FWC, USAID).
• Strong analytical capability, leadership skills and experience in co-operating with government bodies on all levels.
