Dear Sir-Madam,
With great motivation, I hereby apply for the position of procurement officer. With a drive and motivation to be responsible in managing the renewable projects, I bring to the table my excellent knowledge and proven track record in all stages of Greenfield projects (>1,200 MWp). Through my educational background in engineering and management (MBA) and professional experience of more than three years, I have achieved a combination of very strong analytic, technical and commercial skills that gives me an edge while collaborating technical and commercial aspects.
I completed my bachelors as an electrical engineer in 2010 and started my career in a 1200 MW Greenfield power project and worked as a single point of contact in the junior management team. I gained a detailed technical expertise while coordinating with global contractors such as ABB, AREVA and SIEMENS for the erection and commissioning of all power protection and automation products. I defined the procurement strategy at Essar by categorizing the equipment and suppliers based on their strategic importance. This not only resulted in reduced cost and timely delivery of equipment, but also achieved an upper hand in negotiations with suppliers.
After successful commissioning of the project, I decided to strengthen my commercial skills and did MBA in International Management at ESB Business School in Germany. This not only helped me to add commercial orientation to my technical knowledge, but also gave me the chance to learn German as a foreign language. With great aspirations to work in international markets, I have improved my language level to limited working proficiency (currently learning B2 level) and gained international experience while working as an intern with Rolls-Royce PLC and CRONIMET. At Rolls-Royce, I led the restructuring strategy of Rolls-Royce from an OEM to OEM cum Project Management status. I developed a model defining the scope of work for an OEM, EPC and IPP company.
During my recent internship at CRONIMET Mining Power Solutions GmbH in the techno-commercial role, I took independent responsibilities of managing an IPP portfolio of more than 200 MW Solar PV Hybrid projects in Africa and Australia. My daily responsibilities included developing detailed financial models to compare investment scenarios using discounted cash flows (DCF), preparation of feasibility studies, indicative bid/proposals for IPP/EPC tenders, project pricing, procurement and project controlling. For project pricing and procurement, I coordinated with global suppliers such as Canadian Solar & Jinco for modules, and SMA for the fuel save controllers, compact transformer stations, inverters etc. In addition to the project development role, I utilized my more than 2 years of experience in project management and led the preparation of the project reporting and controlling documents.
As a next step, I look forward to take next level of responsibilities as a Procurement Manager. I am available to start immediately with a performance based negotiable salary of €53,000 p.a. I look forward to discuss this in detail.
