Project: Hotplate remote app for smart phones

Viewpoint: Often it happens that to cook something we switch on the hotplate, but then we forget to switch it off as we get busy with other activities. Other times we have to make several rounds of kitchen to change the heating temperature or just to make sure that we have switched off the hotplates. Thus the hotplate business is not only time consuming but also loaded with some risk. In an attempt to make hotplates more automatic and convenient to use, I have designed the mobile app through which one would be able to control his hotplates directly from his smart phone. This app would require that the hotplate in kitchen should be connected to it over the same Wi-Fi network.

Goal: The primary goals of this app would be:
 Switch on/ switch off the hotplates
 Change the temperature of hotplates
 Set timer for reminder
 Automatically switch off the hotplates with its auto-cut option (found in general
settings)
 Display the hotplate status at any point of time

Target audience: This app is designed for an average user who uses or at least is familiar with smart phones.
