Über mich
I am from The Netherlands.
I started working in Information Technology in 1990, in various roles but mainly as a Cobol designer /developer and Team Leader.
Over the years my technical skills regarding designing and building Information Systems have grown, mainly, but not solely, in COBOL- environments. I took all the necessary steps from a junior programmer to a very experienced specialist. Beside (COBOL) programming skills, I have been able to grasp some “soft” skills over the years as well.
For example: consultancy and pre-sales consultancy, creating and providing training material, teaching, (small) project management, field management and coaching colleagues.
However, my (COBOL) programming skills always lead the way. And in less technical roles my technical knowledge and experience with COBOL proved to be very useful over the years.
And although I have much experience developing software applications in Cobol, I would like to consider myself as an all-round specialist with a great sense of logic.
I believe that my skills, knowledge and experience have really added value to my employers so far. I participated in many IT-projects in industry-, bank-, insurance- and government environments.
I am a team player and always fully committed to get the job done.
I believe that sharing and transferring knowledge is important and it gives me great satisfaction to do so. Nevertheless, I feel perfectly well working on a “solo-bases” as well.
Humour is also an important part of my being. It keeps my never sleeping brain in shape.
I speak, read and write in Dutch, German and English.
I am able to adjust quickly to new people and environments and appreciate straightforward communication and a “hands on” mentality.
When I am not working, I like to write songs, make music (piano and drumms), go for a stroll or do some workouts to try to keep in shape (as much as possible).
