wide range of HR functions including talent acquisition, learning and development, performance improvement, benefits &
entitlements administration, advisory services, organizational design, work environment & employee relationships, and HR
policy compliance etc.
Major Achievements:
Established the HR unit in Somali region and later for Tigray Emergency, built capacity of local staff through continuous
guidance, mentoring, and coaching. Conducted workforce planning and OD exercises for 7 offices to develop minimum
structures for efficient programme delivery as per Country Strategic Plan and led the Talent Acquisition activities. Revamped
the current onboarding tool as well as supported and delivered onboarding activities to ensure new employees have a positive
experience of WFP and are successfully integrated into their new role and the organization. Contributed towards enhancing
gender parity, diversity, and inclusion through recruitment outreach, locally building talent pool and other strategies and as an
outcome enhanced gender parity of the region by 16% (from 14% to 30%. Created HR Dashboard and trained junior staff.
