To whom it may concern,
I confirm that Adrian Manuel Vázquez Betancourt was employed as research fellow at the Innovation Center of Computer Assisted Surgery (ICCAS) in the Universität Leipzig from 01.04.2007 to 28.02.2010. I met him in June 2005 while he participated in the Computer Assisted Radiology and Surgery (CARS) conference. Given his qualifications and skills in the medical informatics branch we agreed in working together to receive a scholarship from DAAD and finance a research stay of three months in Germany. In January 2006 he arrived to our institute thanks to a DAAD grant. He remained working with us as research assistant first and afterwards as a research fellow till the end of the project in February 2010.
His job as research fellow in the project Automatic Soft-Tissue Manipulation (ASTMA) carries the following responsibilities:
- Design and develop of a Human Machine Interface for the ASTMA System
- Extend the DICOM standard to support video and control streaming for the ASTMA System
- Clinical evaluation of the ASTMA System
- Coordinate the projects activities with the German Aerospace Institute (DLR) in Munich
- Supervise the students who worked together with him to fulfil the project milestones
Mr. Adrian Vazquez is skilled in Object Oriented Design and Programming, Concurrent Programming, Human Machine Interface Design and showed an ample command of C/C++ programming language as well as of the libraries wxWidgets and DCMTK. He was able to quickly assimilate and apply new knowledge required.
As co-worker he was reliable, dedicated, loyal and committed to achieve the goals of the project. He was always opened to share ideas with the rest of the teamwork and maintained at every time a highly professional performance.
I would happily re-employ Mr. Adrian Vazquez as I consider him to be a valuable member of the team, who consistently achieved good results and delivers all expectations.
