- Support to Production DB2 systems and applications (maintenance, security, stability, performance etc.);
- Responsible for designing the physical structure and maintaining the operational performance of the DB2 databases that support business applications;
- Support to Application/Development teams and physical database model implementation like Application Releases in Production;
- Review DDL requests for Tables and Indexes from design and performance point of view;
- Design and creation of relational databases for all environments (Test, System Test, Homologation, QA and Production). Databases, Tablespaces, Tables, Indexes, Stored Procedures, Materialized Query Tables, Temporal Tables, Views, Collections-Plans-Packages etc;
- DB2 DBA support for v9, v10 and v11 Migration;
- Responsible for the implementation of new databases and the management of existing ones, as well as database-related softwares like ChangeMan or CoolGen;
- Meeting quality criteria in terms of integrity, security and availability and providing technical support and advice to the development and operational areas within Information Systems;
- Responsible for test, system test, homologation, QA and production environments;
- DB2 administration utilities: Copy, Recover, Check Data, Reorg, Runstats, Rebuild, Load/Unload, DSN1COPY etc;
- Maintenance of Plans and Packages directly or through Changeman;
- Performing/monitoring database backup and recovery, management of the backup and restore process;
- Design and implementation of data synchronization routines and cross-loads among systems and platforms;
- DB2 performance monitoring and tuning (Access Paths, DB2 Traces, SQL optimization, Omegamon and EzDB2 tool);
- Maintenance of authorizations, permissions and accesses to DB2 Objects (Databases, Tables, Plans, Packages, Schemas, Stored Procedures etc.);
- Binds – Plans, Packages, Access Paths, Plan Table, PLANMGMT;
- Investigation of Problems and Incidents, including Root Cause Analysis, Log Analyzer;
- Recoverability and availability assurance activities associated with high availability design, disaster recovery testing;
- Creation of PMRs (Problem Management Record) to IBM related to issues with DB2;
- Problem and Change Management process (Remedy);
- On-call support, 24x7;
