SELECTED ACHIEVEMENTS
Delivered a 250% increase in annual turnover for Celtus Financial Services from 2006 to 2007 with a growth rate approaching 40% being maintained from 2007 onwards. Transformed the working capital position of the business, building a cash cover equivalent to over 30% of sales volume. Drives a major service portfolio expansion for Celtus through the implementation of MLR-compliancy procedures, enabling the company registered to operate as a tax agent and trust office.
Protected Walt Disneys European Supply Chain organisation from a potential VAT write-off of 22m and an inevitable fall in share price following a re-stating of signed off accounts. Worked closely with Ernst & Young to completely re-build the VAT infra-structure and established appropriate Intercompany reconciliation procedures for all 13 EU operations. Over 90% of the VAT due was recovered and penalties were avoided.
Resolved a major Sarbanes-Oxley compliance issue for GMAC RFC which had the potential to significantly damage the organisations reputation and image. Delivered intercompany reconciliations for annual audits 2004 to 2007 working with a four year back log of financial statements (US GAAP and UK GAAP); this was an extremely complex undertaking and related to a 2bn mortgage backed security portfolio on the German market. All four audits were successfully passed and local statutory books were closed for the periods concerned.
Directed the transition of Idexx Europes local finance departments into a Shared Services Centre standardising accounting systems across the organisation and delivering a reduction in labour and consulting costs of over 520k.
Led the Shared Services initiative for NCR, including integrating the requirements of a new entity following an acquisition and generating annual savings of over 250k. Another major benefit to the company was a reduction in staff turnover from 25% to less than 5%, worth more than 250k to the business.
