Statoil - Aibel - Servo Hydranor Norway "first project Gudrun platform" barrier system:
The Gudrun Platform (first project), built by Aibel AS, operates cranes for around-the-clock cargo handling. As the crane operators hoist supplies form ships to the platform, containers up to 8 MT weight moving toward the platform at speeds up to 3 m/sec. The dampers are part of a barrier system engineered by Aibel AS. The viscoelastic dampers are highly tuned to absorb the cargo´s kinetic energy. Target: Barriers that avoid, that people can be hurt or equipment can be destroyed.
