Globally responsible for implementation of functional safety standard ISO 26262 in the Chassis Technology department within Vehicle Engineering. The department develops vehicle motion control systems (steering, braking, suspension, complete motion control) for
automated and manual vehicles. Highlights:
Forming and leading a new functional safety team in the company’s agile framework (self-initiated).
Leading implementation of ISO 26262 in systems/software engineering processes and toolchains.
Providing cost estimates to management team for ISO 26262 work in vehicle projects.
Teaching and reviewing detailed ISO26262 activities (such as Hazard analysis, safety concepts, test cases)
Planning and tracking ISO 26262 activities for the department in vehicle projects.
Supplier management for functional safety – writing contracts, supplier selection, requirement exchange.
Educating engineers and management about functional safety and ISO 26262.
Involved in harmonizing safety-related and non-safety-related quality activities and processes.
Developing the verification and validation strategy and plan for the department in vehicle projects.
Being an active member of global Volvo Group ISO 26262 Competence Center - reviewing and providing inputs for
improvement of Volvo overall processes/templates/instructions related to functional safety activities. Involved in
implementation of new standards at Volvo related to automated driving and cybersecurity.
Represented Volvo Group at OSS5 conference in Berlin: as moderator of panel discussion ‘fail-operational vehicle
motion control’.

D. is currently leading the implementation of the ISO 26262 functional safety standard into both products and processes for the global Chassis Technology department at Volvo Group Trucks Technology.
