One Vodafone Entity located in Munich had a lot of accounting issues. My role was to "tidy" up the backlog, get the P&L sorted out, reveiw the processes. Work with the Share Service Center to review all process. In the process of doing so I found a lot of accounting errors which enabled Vodafone to revise their VAT Returns and claw back close the 700K. Deep dive into the standing orders, rent payments to 3rd party reveiw (correct errors made, 3rd parties retained funds paid twice etc etc. ). Good knowledge of accounting and data analysis needed to weed out errors.
