The project aimed to establish a Contract Managing Unit (CMU) dedicated to outsourcing the operations of simple applications, specifically Commercial Off-The-Shelf (COTS) applications, to enhance operational efficiency and focus on core business functionalities. Key project activities included setting up comprehensive process management to ensure seamless operations and consistent service delivery. Additionally, the project focused on establishing the necessary governance structures to oversee the operational framework, manage outsourcing relationships effectively, and ensure compliance with established IT standards and policies. This initiative streamlined application management, reduced operational complexities, and aligned IT services with strategic business objectives.

Governance consulting on the transfer of the IT supplier management function into the procurement area. Focusing on building comprehensive provider governance, including aligning and adapting relevant processes. By establishing a coherent governance structure, clear responsibilities, performance indicators and guidelines were introduced. These contributed to optimizing supplier relationships, controlling costs and maximizing provider performance.

The project involved a comprehensive review of audit findings to identify existing weaknesses in IT governance. Based on the insights gained, targeted improvement measures were conceived and developed to strengthen IT governance. Special emphasis was placed on the introduction of effective governance processes to enhance strategic sourcing. By implementing these processes, better control and oversight of sourcing activities were achieved, ensuring cost optimization, risk mitigation, and quality assurance. The project contributed to increasing the efficiency and effectiveness of IT governance and laid a solid foundation for a successful strategic sourcing strategy.
