Biotechnologist with science based business background

I just recently completed my master’s degree in biology and science-based business. The courses I took during my studies, really ignited my passion for the management and development of businesses that deal in scientific advancements.

Since my very early childhood it was clear to me that I would like to study and work in a field related to science. I started reading and observing nature from primary school and got interested in science very early. My natural curiosity and the thrill of experiencing and exploring new things have kept me interested and inquisitive. To now see this childhood dream coming true is very exciting and motivating for me indeed.
For my bachelor’s degree I studied biotechnology, where I focused on medicinal and environmental biotechnology. I am a very dedicated student, which is reflected in my excellent grades and my graduation with honors from both University of Greenwich and Modern Sciences and Arts University.
Beside several awards and certificates inside and outside of the universities, I was also able to secure first place in the national science competition SOLE (Science Operation Leaders in Egypt) with my bachelor's degree project, bringing the university positive publicity.
Even before I graduated with my bachelor's degree, I started working with the company I made my graduation project with. The company is called ECARU or Egyptian Company for solid waste recycling. The company operates on the international level in many Arabic countries as well as Africa and East Asia in the field of alternative energy production from biomass. In addition to that, the company deals with different kinds of solid waste and is the largest solid waste recycling and composting operation in Egypt and the Middle East. My main focus in the company is the production of energy-dense material from biomass residues from the agriculture sector in either liquid, such as bio-ethanol, solid, or gaseous forms. I also present to the company's upper management new ideas our research team finds economically feasible, interesting and manageable.
This allows me to have already had an insight into how science is related to business and gave me the opportunity to see how science and research can be effectively and practically applied in industry.
I just recently completed my master’s degree in biology and science-based business. The courses I took during my studies, really ignited my passion for the management and development of businesses that deal in scientific advancements.
In the past year I was also able to join Merck for an internship in customer care. The position furthered my interest in working on the business side of a science based company as well.
My success in both my work place and my university is not only due to my dedication but is also influenced by my people skills, my ability to work in a team, being organized and as well capable of working on my own. In addition to that I enjoy giving presentations at both work and university. All these factors allow me to be very flexible and to work under most conditions effectively.
