My role was leading a small team of specialised testers proving quality assurance on a large scale project in automotive manufacturing. My role was a combination of hands on technical and lead/management and providing expertise in a wide range of disciplines across the project. In the earliest stages of the project I was tasked executing a full review of the QA and defect process with the intention of updating and improving them. Following this I organised and took part in technical workshops for the test team in order to perform knowledge transfer and bring my team up to speed on the full solution. Once complete we created full requirements, test cases and test plans using HP ALM, matching requirements to test cases, defects and a full reporting structure.

The focus once the initial setup was complete was to work with my team and other groups such as suppliers, internal SMEs, solutions architects and others to execute test cases covering the full solution. The testing was initially focused on key system areas from the SAP ordering solution and the transport and interpretation of XML based data files. The content of these files was used to drive the entire manufacturing process across three areas of the factory covering BIW, Paint and Trim and Final. All results, evidence and issues were recorded upon and reported from ALM on a daily basis. An interesting project with a strong focus on data testing using Oracle , Rabbit MQ and XML data packs.

I was placed on several projects during my time with E.ON and was involved with call recording, payments, smart meter testing, mobile/web applications testing, UI/UX and middleware solutions testing. My initial function was to work with the existing test group to revisit and update requirements, rewrite test cases, plan execution and reporting to the PMO. Much of the testing was dependant on external solutions or closed systems which included secure payments solutions, SAP interfaces, smart meter platforms, credit check agencies and government regulatory departments amongst others. In addition to my technical role I was also required to introduce better processes around all facets of the project including review and update of defect, version control, packaging, deployment and reporting process flows. During the mobile applications testing I was using various tools including but not limited to ALM, Postman with JSON, SOAP, Putty, WSFTP, TFS, and SharePoint. Test execution on most projects was E2E injecting data via the UI or direct to web services (REST), confirm via middleware solution and verify content etc at in the backend. Platforms included Web, application and mobile devices Test activities were supplemented with the daily role of reporting, defect creation and resolution, test case creation etc.

Testing of a supply chain service covering web, API and native windows data entry from data creation and insertion through to sub systems and on to end point. Full E2E data tracking, data creation, Oracle database, Web APIs, defect creation, tracking and resolution. Creation of test plan, cases from business requirements and gap analysis across the full SDLC. Technologies included Windows Server 2012, SQL Server 2008, Oracle, Unix, Sharepoint, JIRA, Java and mobile application testing on IOS and Android.

My role on this project is the responsibility for testing an upgrade to the payments system for Birmingham city council. System interfaces to SAP and external financial services. Testing include both infrastructure and functional testing to confirm compliance with PA DSS standards. I am also tasked with the organisation and execution of the UAT phase of the project working closely with SMEs and stakeholders in order to create use cases. In turn these use cases are to be mapped to the business requirements this will be used to create a risk register and gap analysis. This project also has a great deal of regulatory based testing to conform to the new banking security standards (PCI DSS, PA DSS). Other projects included service request and tracking systems on mobile applications including but not exclusively iPhone (IOS7.x), iPad(IOS 7.x), Android phones and tablets (Kit Kat, Jelly Bean) and various internal and COTS tools including DeviceAnywhere, MobiTool, Perfecto.

My role was that of a technical tester covering various areas depending on the urgency of the stream. I have worked on corporate banking payments and transfers, SEPA payments transition, SWIFT container tracking and messaging systems, confirmation of regulatory adherence on supply chain services and other aspects of DHL services worldwide. Technologies used during testing include Web Methods, MQ, Unix, SharePoint, CouchDB, Trac, Quality Centre 10 and ALM, SAP ECC, SAP-FI, CMS, JMS, SQL, SVN, CI, documentation creation and updates to test plans, reporting etc.

Test environment included Siebel 8.1, Singleview billing solution, Web Methods and ancillary sub systems. Tools included Quality Centre, Project Place, Lotus Notes, SQL Navigator, SOAPUI (mock/Stub simulation), Unix tools and in house develop test harness where required. The general test/development approach was based on a bespoke Agile/Scrum methodology. The testing included infrastructure, virtual good (topups, bundles etc ), SIM card changes, hardware supply chain, provisioning, web test for sales support interface and customer portal, database verification (SQL) of data through the E2E.
