• Biotechnologie

- Designed and cloned two hundred recombinant protein constructs and screened fifty pharmacological compounds in vitro.
- Established and validated functional expression protocols for three soluble protein constructs and two membrane protein constructs in bacteria, insect, and mammalian cells respectively; selected four protein-ligand complexes for further characterization through FRET, radio-ligand binding assay, Western Blot, and analytical SEC (crystallized two of them); developed and optimized three protein enzymatic kinetics experimental protocols.
- Organized and led efficiently four practical courses for bachelor students; successfully coached one master thesis which led to two publications.
- Wrote and published three research articles in Protein Expression and Purification, Advances in Experimental Medicine and Biology, and PNAS. Received three international awards.

Biochemistry: Soluble and membrane protein expression, purification (e.g. immunoaffinity and ligandaffinity chromatography, SEC, FSEC, ion exchange chromatography); Western blotting, ELISA; protein stability analysis using FSEC, radio-ligand binding and CPM assays.

Molecular biology: molecular engineering of DNA by insertion, deletion, or alanine scanning; q-PCR.

Cell biology: maintaining cell culture of bacteria, insect cell and mammalian cells (including CHO cells); generating baculovirus and mammalian stable cell lines; flow cytometry, immunoblotting, fluorescence and confocal microscopy.

Biophysical techniques: FRET; ITC; DLS; NTA; analytical ultracentrifugation; SONICC; X-ray crystallography; Small angle neutron scattering.
