I am seconded to GM-OnStar Corporation and GM-OnStar is a subsidiary of General Motors (Opel) that provides subscription-based communications, in-vehicle security, hands free calling, turn-by-turn navigation, Wi-Fi Hotspot for Data services and remote diagnostics systems throughout the United States, Canada , China and Europe.

I am Responsible for assisting with a subset of the testing from initial planning right through to building suitable test platforms, running and documenting test results for GM-OnStar to ensure that they comply with the system specifications and meet the functional and usability expectations of the customer.


• Leading a Team of associate Engineers for Writing, validating and executing the test cases in GM OnStar LTE/3G/GSM devices.
• Responsible for execution of tests to verify that behaviour of OnStar devices conforms to specifications, in live network environment (Static/Drive Test).
• Log analysis for issues observed during Stationary and Drive Testing.
• Working alongside the operators to verify whether Mobile Terminals is being supported on their networks.
• Joint testing with various operators (Major EU Mobile Operators)
• Travelling all over Europe to carry out testing in different places with various LTE/3G/GSM Operators.
• Preparing the test plan for the regression testing activities.
• Complete handling of bug reporting, managing and tracking of handset testing
• Development of test cases for the new feature added to the handset
• Enhancing and maintaining the test cases and maintaining review records of test documents.

I was seconded to Intel Mobile Communications (IMC), IMC is a subsidiary of Intel Corporation. It was formed when Intel completed acquisition of the Wireless Solutions (WLS) division of Infineon early in 2011. IMC develops, manufactures and markets semiconductor products and solutions for wireless communications. It targets the fast growing market segments of smart phones, connected devices (e.g. tablets, USB dongles, mobile PCs, M2M), and ultra-low-cost/entry phones. Its roadmap is focused on providing cost-effective 2G/3G single-chip platforms for ULC phones up to entry-level smart phones and 3G/4G slim modem and RF solutions for mid-to high-end smart phones and connected devices.

• Responsible for execution of tests to verify that behaviour of mobile phones conforms to specifications, in live network environment (Static/Drive Test).
• The testing of mobile terminal features like MO/MT speech calls, Handovers ,Cell Selection/Reselection, VT, WAP, PC Browsing, PS/CS Calls, Dial up connection, MMS/SMS/Supplementary Services.
• Log analysis for issues observed during Stationary and Drive Testing.
• Working alongside the operators to verify whether Mobile Terminals is being supported on their networks.
• Joint testing with various operators (Major EU/Asian Mobile Operators)
• GCF Field Trial support to GCF Certification organizations on behalf of Customer.
• IOT Support, for carrying out IOT testing with different network Infra-structure.
• Traveling all over Europe to carry out testing in different places with various 3G Operators.
• Preparing the test plan for the regression testing activities.
• Complete handling of bug reporting, managing and tracking of handset testing
• Development of test cases for the new feature added to the handset

I was seconded to Nortel through Sasken Communications Ltd .The Solution System Test (SST) teams perform functional verification and validation of the BSS Solution. A Solution is a set of BSS Features that imply more than one BSS Product, a BSS Product being one of the following [ OAM, BSC/TCU, PCU, BTS ], also referred to as “BSS node” or more generically “Subsystem”. SST focuses on:
• Verifying the Solution against its specifications (Functional Notes & 3GPP TS), in an end-to-end environment, connected to real NSS and UEs.

• Validating the Solution behaviour in an environment as close as possible to real Customer environments.
• Validating through Stress testing and Abnormal Condition testing (Soak & Load) the system behaviour beyond normal operation.

i) Release 18, PC-1 Introduction
Release 18 and PC-1 (Pick and Choose-1) introduced many features to GSM portfolio. I have worked on following new features for this release.

ii) Release V17 SST Stream New Feature and Regression Testing
Major new features introduced in release V17.0 are Optical BSC, Optical TCU, Optical BSC High Capacity, Optical TCU High Capacity, and Dynamic Abis.

Duties and Responsibilities as Senior Engineer Software on Nortel Networks
• Analysing the User Requirements and Specifications and Developing the Test Plans & Test cases. Preparing Test Plan, test schedule and assigning tasks to team members.

• Executing UNIX commands for given features as part of NF test and Regression tests. Preparing Test data and walkthrough test cases.

• Performing Negative testing, Positive testing and Regression testing. Using Test Office carried out automated testing.

• Creating Test scripts using Test Office Tool. Analysing and debugging the Test results.

• Identifying the problems, prioritizing them and communicating the bugs to the Developers.
• Updating the Customer information and running the Batch Files and Shell Scripting in UNIX environment. Restarting the Application Servers in UNIX environments

• Documenting the technical information, test planning, estimation, risk analysis and tested new software release versions.

• Writing the User Manual.
